| Terry LeBourgeois, M.D.
Dr. LeBourgeois completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of
Massachusetts Law and Psychiatry Program. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry.
He was a 2003 Rappeport Fellow of AAPL and winner of the 2001 AAPL Young Investigator Prize. He currently performs funded research on forensic topics and supervises fellows in criminal forensic evaluations. John W. Thompson, Jr., M.D.
Dr. Thompson completed a Forensic Fellowship at The University of Florida and has forensic experience in criminal, civil and military cases. He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry with Added Qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry and in Addiction Psychiatry. Clayton Kelly, M.D.
Dr. Kelly completed a Forensic Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. Sarah DeLand, M.D.
Dr. DeLand completed a Forensic Fellowship at The University of Florida and is the Medical Director of the Forensic Aftercare Program in Region I which includes Orleans Parish. She is board certified in Adult Psychiatry with Added Qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry. Her clinic follows insanity aquittees who are released from the state forensic facility. She provides didactic and clinical supervision to Fellows. Harminder Mallik, M.D.
Dr. Mallik completed a forensic fellowship at the University of Maryland. He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry with Added Qualifications in Forensic Psychiatry. He supervises fellows at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System and Orleans parish Criminal District Court, and directs the Risk Management Forensic Seminar for psychiatry residents. Sanket Vyas, M.D.
Dr. Vyas completed a forensic psychiatry fellowship at Tulane University and a Child Psychiatry fellowship at LSU Health Sciences Center. He is board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. Dr. Vyas supervises the fellows at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. J. Scott Stanley, M.D.
Dr. Stanley completed a Forensic Fellowship and a Child Psychiatry fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. He is the Assistant Clinical Director of the Forensic Division at Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System. Anita Snow, M.D.
Dr. Snow completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans . She is board certified in Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. Jose Artecona, M.D.
Dr. Artecona completed a forensic fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. He is board certified in Adult Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. He is certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Society of Addiction Medicine. He supervises and teaches fellows at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System. He has forensic experience in criminal cases and speaks fluent Spanish and English Gregory Polozola, J.D., M.S.W
Mr. Polozola obtained his Law Degree from LSU's Paul M. Hebert Law Center and his Masters in Social Work from the LSU School of Social Work. In his position at Tulane, he currently serves as a Confidential Assistant/ Forensic Management Consultant to the Office of Mental Health, LA Department of Health and Hospitals where he works extensively with OMH, DHH Administration, DHH Legal, DPS&C, OCDD, DSS, The Louisiana Law Institute, The Louisiana District Attorneys Association, The Juvenile and Family Court Judges' Association and Tulane Faculty at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System, Forensic Division on issues affecting Mental Health and Forensic issues. He currently assists Dr. Kelly in teaching the Landmark Cases and a didactic seminar in the Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship Program. Ashley Smith, MSW, LCSW-BACS
Ms. Smith completed her Masters of Social Work degree at Louisiana State University . She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a Diplomate in Forensic Social Work through the National Organization of Forensic Social Work and a Clinical Member of the Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers. She provides assessment and treatment to sexual offenders in the State Forensic System and in private practice. She teaches seminars on sexual offenders, stalking and sexual assault victims. Herman Soong, M.D.
Dr. Soong completed a Forensic Fellowship at Tulane University School of Medicine. He supervises Fellows at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System and Elayn Hunt Correctional Center. He is developing a system to provide psychiatric services to inmates in Louisiana state prisons at Elayn Hunt Correctional Center and Dixon Correctional Institute. He is also available for private criminal and civil cases. Gina Manguno-Mire, Ph.D.
Dr. Manguno-Mire received her PhD in psychology from Louisiana State University . She completed a clinical internship at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care system in New Orleans and a postdoctoral fellowship in posttraumatic stress disorder research at Tulane University School of Medicine. She is licensed to practice psychology in the state of Louisiana and is the psychologist at the New Orleans Forensic Aftercare clinic. She presently serves as the course director for the Forensic Research Seminar/Journal Club and has an ongoing research program in forensics and posttraumatic stress. Dr. Culver has extensive court experience in assessing malingering and is a special consultant to the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System. He teaches seminars to the fellows on malingered mental illness. Ellen Gandle, M.D. Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry Karen van Beyer, Ph.D., LCSW Dr. van Beyer received a Doctorate in Sociology and a Masters degree in Social Work from Tulane University . She completed post-doctoral training in Child Psychiatry at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center . Dr. van Beyer is in private practice, working primarily in the areas of child and family therapy and as an expert in child custody evaluation for the civil courts in Jefferson and Orleans parishes. At the Child Custody Clinic, she teaches forensic and child fellows as well as social workers and psychologists how to conduct custody evaluations. Daniel K. Winstead, M.D. Chairman,
Department of Psychiatry and Neurology, Tulane Medical Center
Dr.
Winstead will be responsible for the interface between the Tulane Psychiatry
residency and the forensic fellowship. He is intimately involved in
forensic program development and expansion. He is the former Clinical
Director of the Feliciana Forensic Facility and is an active consultant
to the facility.
