An applicant must be a graduate of a medical school approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, or have a permanent certification by the Qualification Board of the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates, and they must be eligible to obtain a license to practice medicine in the State of Louisiana. A successfully completed postgraduate year is required for entrance. The applicant may be invited for an interview. Final acceptance into the program is at the discretion of the Program Director and Chairman of the Department upon the recommendation of the residency selection committee. We accept applications for positions in Neurology and the Combined Psychiatry and Neurology Residency Programs through ERAS only. Please contact your medical school for instructions on how to apply.
