JEFFREY NICHOLL, M.D.
Dr. Jeffrey Nicholl is Associate Professor of Neurology
and Director of Clinical Neurophysiology at Tulane University Health Sciences
Center. He obtained his Medical Degree from Georgetown University. He
has completed residencies in Psychiatry at UCLA and in Neurology at Tulane
University. He has completed fellowships in Clinical Neurophysiology at
Tulane University and in Epilepsy at UCLA. He is board certified in Neurology,
Psychiatry, Emergency Medicine, Clinical Neurophysiology and Epilepsy
Monitoring. His research interests include Psychiatric aspects of epilepsy
and in the emergency treatment of seizures and status epilepticus.
SARALA PALLIYATH, M.D.
Dr. Sarala Palliyath is Clinical Professor of Neurology
at Tulane University Health Sciences Center and Director of the Neuromuscular
Laboratory at the Veterans Administration Hospital in New Orleans. She
obtained her medical degree from All India Institute of Medical Sciences
in New Delhi, India, and completed her neurology training at the University
of Birmingham in Alabama and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.
Dr. Sarala furthered her training with a fellowship in EMG and Neuromuscular
Diseases at the University of Birmingham in Alabama. Dr. Sarala recently
participated in a research project at the National Institute of Health
in Washington, D.C. for training in Mark Hallett's Laboratory for gait
analysis techniques.
MORTEZA SHAMSNIA, M.D.
Dr. Morteza Shamsnia is Associate Professor of Neurology
and Director of the EMG Laboratory at Tulane University Health Sciences
Center. He obtained his medical degree from Tehran University School of
Medicine in Tehran, Iran. He completed his neurology training at the University
of Missouri-Columbia Medical Center in Columbia, Missouri. He furthered
his training with a fellowship in Neurophysiology (EEG/Epilepsy and Sleep)
at Kansas University, and a fellowship in Neuromuscular Disorders and
EMG at the Medical College of Georgia. Dr. Shamsnia is board-certified
by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, American Board of Electrodiagnositc
Medicine, American Board of Clinical Neurophysiology, and Diplomat in
the Subspecialty of Neurology with added qualifications in Clinical Neurophysiology.
ANTONIO STAZIO, M.D.
Dr. Antonio Stazio is Clinical Professor of Neurology
at Tulane University Health Sciences Center. He is Director of the Multiple
Sclerosis Clinic at Tulane. He obtained his medical degree from the University
of Naples Medical School in Naples, Italy. He completed his neurology
training at Baltimore City Hospitals in Baltimore, Maryland, and Georgetown
University Hospital in Washington, D.C.
All of the faculty have written and published in various
medical journals and publications. They also actively participate in various
research projects.
